Generation We

One of the reasons I love teaching the twenty-somethings is their faces when something they’ve done really hits them. There’s a remarkable blast of energy that runs out of them and it’s catchy. I walk out of class with a renewed sense of the world and it helps me out when I feel bombarded by prejudice, anger, or malice. I feel protected by their journeys and being a small part of it is an honor.

True, it’s just an acting class, and I know that. I realize I’m not re-discovering the wheel, but I guess everyone does whatever they can and takes part in the smallest of plans.

This video gives me hope. I know they’re not all like this, but even if this is a small piece of this generation’s pie, I’ll take it. Gladly.

Any young person benefits from knowing and especially from being taught by you. That is no small thing, Alex.

Gen We is inspiring to me. I do know they've inherited a mess to clean up by generations who ignored every warning and concentrated only on taking. But the good thing I see about these young folks is they do understand what the problems are and I love their attitudes on inclusiveness and global diplomacy.
