Thanks to the sweet Lord in Heaven we still have Dolly Parton. And thanks to her ginormous talents (of which there are many) she's written some of the best pop and country songs on the charts. Add that together with some sweet soul and blue grass and a monsterous hit movie and you have the makings for a Broadway hit.

And yes, that's the delicioud Allison Janney playing the Lily Tomlin role. Perfect casting.

And Megan Hilty (the Los Angeles Glinda in "Wicked") is going to be playing Dolly's part - I predict that by this time next year, she'll be a Broadway star!

I missed Megan in Wicked, but she almost subletted our abode about 2 years ago when she first got into town. Does that count for anything?

Sure, that counts as "I totally hang with Megan Hilty all the time and we're like this."

When I saw "Wicked" at the Pantages, the T-shirt concession girl in the lobby was bubbling over about Megan Hilty. She said she had seen Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda on Broadway, and - leaning in and whispering as though to disclose a dread secret - she confessed that she preferred Megan's performance to Kristin's.
